History of Dien Chan

In 1975, at the end of the Vietnam War, Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu begins by treating drug addicts, a consequence of armed conflict, and elaborates the hypothesis that every part of the body, internal and external as well as the systems, are reflected on the face. He clinically verifies it during the 1980s and therefore establishes the fundamentals of Multireflexology - Dien Chan.

Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu discovers a network of fixed points on his face when he devotes his research helping his patients overcome the crises of abstinence. He is motivated by the fact that no one can give him a concrete methodology to explain acupuncture points and meridians.

His studies in traditional Chinese medicine and his interest for Dr. William Fitzgerald's work on the body's energy divisions, encouraged him to continue his clinical observations. He then realizes that his fixed points describe diagrams of reflection on the face and body without knowing the works of Eunice Ingham, but being fascinated by the auriculotherapy of Dr. Nogier.

However, unlike conventional reflexology, Dien Chan combines its many reflection diagrams with specific points on the face to compose a multireflexology network.

Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu then discovers that the activation of bqc·points is not always suitable for all cases.

He finds that more aggressive treatments (needles, burns, etc.) trigger an opposite reaction and cause our defence system and therefore stress.

He then experiments by exerting stimulations with various textures, without pain or damaging the skin.

His passion for achieving the balance between yin and yang leads him towards the creation of delicate multireflex tools that will enrich our care exponentially.

Patryck Aguilar-Cassarà

In 2001, Patryck Aguilar-Cassarà meets Professor Châu and becomes a passionate student, eager to share this method so effective with the Western world.

In 2002, in close collaboration with Prof. Châu and his sons, he created the International School of Multireflexology - Dien Chan (ISMDC) in Barcelona.

In 2003, Patryck wrote the first book on technique in Spanish and French, which he distributed to students as a course material.

In 2009, he published an improvement that the Grancher House of Paris publishes under the title "ABC du Dien Chan" in France. He decides to offer all rights to Professor Bùi Quôc Châu to thank him for his incredible discovery and 10 years of collaboration and fun.

After 4 years of development, Faceasit is born on the Apple AppStore in 2013. This interactive application for iPad has become an essential tool for the therapist who designs personalized care and shares them to allow patients to continue a work of maintenance at home.

He then published a revised English version by his colleague Erica Layton-Weiland, who has become a certified EiMDC trainer for North America.

The ISMDC, with over three thousand students and a large team of teachers, offers a unique training experience.

His research department has also developed Chan'beauté, the method of aesthetics and therapeutic wellbeing.
